European football weekend in Italy, Germany and France

Italian Serie A

AC Milan 0-1 Internazionale

Inter pulled off the awaited Milan derby with a 1-0 win over the archrival. Walter Samuel opened the score with his brilliant header after just 3 minutes from the start. The Rossoneri struggled hard but despite Inter’s midfielder Yuto Nagatomo was given a red card in the second half, Massimiliano Allegri’s men couldn’t snap up victory in the derby and mired in the middle of the league table.

Siena 1-2 Juventus

Andrea Pirlo scored an early opener in the 14th minute. Lacklustre Siena managed to net in the dying minutes of the first half. Marchisio’s late volley ended the clash in the 46th Serie A win of Juve.

Lazio thrashed Pescara 3-0 with Hernanes’ opener in the 5th minute and Miroslav Klose’s stunning brace. Roma defeated Atalanta 2-0 gaining their first home win and Cagliari had their maiden victory in the season beating Torino 1-0.

German Bundesliga

Hannover 96 1-1 Borussia Dortmund

Robert Lewandowski scored an opener in the 26th minute. Dortmund felt quite secure even despite the substitutions of defender Mats Hummels, Blaszczykowski and Sven Bender who picked up injuries. But Hannover’s substitute Mame Diouf started a dangerous incursion in the closing moments of the game and fired the equalizer in the 85th minute ending the fray in a shock 1-1 draw.

FC Bayern Munich 2-0 1899 Hoffenheim

Franck Ribery scored a perfect brace in the match continuing Bayern’s winning streak with the 7th successive Bundesliga victory over Hoffenheim.

Borussia Moenchengladbach put an end to unbeaten run of Eintracht Frankfurt beating the second-placed team 2-0. VfL Wolfsburg suffered their goalles 0-3 defeat to FC Schalke 04. Mainz had a late 1-0 victory over Fortuna Duesseldorf with Nikolce Noveski netting in the 85th minute.

French Ligue 1

Olympique Marseille 2-2 Paris Saint-Germain

The clash saw a brace from each side already in the first half. Andre-Pierre Gignac’s brace helped Marseille to retain the top place in the table. The Swede star Zlatan Ibrahimovic equalized with a superb volley in the 23rd minute and scored another goal from 25 metres just in two minutes.

Montpellier HSC 2-3 Évian Thonon Gaillard FC

Évian’s striker Saber Khlifa completed a stunning hat-trick to thrash Ligue 1 reigning champions Montpellier 3-2. He scored his third goal in the 89th minute ending the rival’s hopes to win.

Former Arsenal forward Jeremy Aliadiere continues unbeaten Ligue 1 path for Lorient with his equalizer in a home 1-1 draw with Olympique Lyon. Stade de Reims earns a perfect 3-1 victory over Nice with Gaetan Courtet two late goals.
