Ex-Man City midfielder Johnson revealed mental health problems

Eurosport states that ex-Manchester City player Michael Johnson who has been prasied as a massive talent several years ago revealed that mental health problems lie behind his downfall.

It is to be recalled that the Citizens have decided to terminate his contract in December as he fell out of shape failed to return to full shape following the series of injuries. The last time Michael Johnson played for the senior team in October 2009 in a Carling Cup clash with Scunthorpe. Despite coming on the field as a substitute with only 13 minutes to go he scored an excellent goal. Johnson’s cameo served as a reminder about bags of potential he failed to realize.

Johnson told in an interview to Manchester Evening News that his downfall proceeds from mental health issues which led him to treatment at the Priory Clinic. “I have been attending the Priory Clinic for a number of years now with regard to my mental health and would be grateful if I could now be left alone to live the rest of my life,” said ex-Man City star.
