FA Cup fixtures. Wigan Athletic vs Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has not had a better chance to wrap up a trophy since 2005. Nigel Clough and his Sheffield United continue a dream tournament as the League One side have already knocked out two Premier League and two Championship teams from competition.

Wigan Athletic vs Arsenal
Ruthless clash at Wembley as Cup holders Wigan take on The Gunners, desperate to lift their first trophy since 2005. Arsene Wenger, who brought four FA Cups to Arsenal, confessed he enjoys the competition, where any team can win:
“We all play to win something but of course if you are in The FA Cup everyone can dream to win it at the start of the season.
“The league, maybe six or seven clubs can think about winning it at the start of the season – but the Cup is a dream open to everybody and that is the beauty of The FA Cup.
“Last year Wigan won it and this year they are in the Semi-Final. This year you have Sheffield United who are in the Semi-Final, and having that kind of dream open to everybody makes the competition special.”

However, the French manager still has plenty of injury concern and his side have been in slump form recently. They last won on 16 March and will be struggling to finish fourth in Premier League.
The Latics, who are likely to take part in Premier League promotion play-off later in the season, are determined to keep their title, earned in a historic battle against Manchester City last year. They even had a local band compose a lovely encouraging song “I’m From Wigan, Me”.

Hull City vs Sheffield United
Steve Bruce has had a solid season with The Tigers. Former Manchester United defender all but secured a safe season end in Premier League, lying nine points above relegation zone with five games to go. Now he can concentrate on the FA Cup, where his players take on League One side Sheffield United. However, The Blades are not a piece of cake either as they’ve already knocked out Premier League sides Aston Villa and Fulham, and Championship squads Nottingham Forest and Charlton Athletic on the road to Wembley.
