Fiorentina on the brink of signing Joaquin from Malaga

Fiorentina have reportedly agreed the transfer for Malaga’s winger Joaquin, though the financial details of the deal are kept in secret.

The 31-year-old is currently in talks with the Serie A side about the personal terms. A statement on an official Fiorentina web-site read: “Fiorentina and Malaga have reached an agreement for the outright transfer of Joaquin Sanchez Rodriguez, subject to the player signing a contract.”

The Spaniard came through the ranks of youth academy at Real Betis, before signing his first senior contract with the Heliopolitanos. He made a switch to Valencia in 2006 helping his side to win Copa del Rey trophy two years later.

Joaquin has netted 8 goals in his 45 outings in all competitions for the La Liga side last season. He has also won 57 caps for the national side in five years.
