The first leg of UEFA Europa League third qualifying round results

The runners-up of the last season Athletic Bilbao defeated NK Slaven Koprivnica 3-1 at home. FC Twente, FC Internazionale Milano and Liverpool FC Club began the UEFA Europa League campaign with first leg wins.

FC Twente earned 2-0 victory over Mlada Boleslav. Wesley Sneijder, Yuto Nagatomo and Philippe Countinho led Inter Milan to 3-0 victory over Hajduk Split. Liverpool defeated Gomel 1-0.

St. Patrick was beaten by Hannover 0-3 on their home ground.

Heerenveen ended the game with an impressive 4-0 win over Rapid Bucuresti., KuPS defeated Bursaspor1-0, and Swedish club AIK prevailed over Lech 3-0 on their home ground.

A Turkish Eskisehirspor scored 1-1 draw with Marseille. The same result was shown by Servette and Rosenborg, Asteras and Maritimo, Tromso and Metalurh Donetsk, Horsensand and Elfsborg.

Crvena Zvezda and Omonia finished with a goalless score.
