Fletcher injury worry for Scotland

Fletcher injury worry for Scotland

Scotland forward Steven Fletcher was stretchered off just 90 second into his side’s 2-1 defeat to Wales on Friday, as he fell awkwardly after a tough challenge with Ben Davies.

Fletcher has had an initial scan on his ankle, which revealed damaged ligament, meaning he is likely to be on the sidelines for up to the end of the season. Meanwhile Scotland have lost any chances of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup, as they are bottom of the table with just two points from their five games.

While Fletcher will definitely miss the upcoming away game against Serbia, he could also be out of the remaining eight games for Sunderland. And this piece of news is a major blow for the Black Cats who are facing a tough battle against the relegation this season.
