Fourth tier Bradford are through to the Capital One Cup Final!

Bradford set to stay put in the history of world football as the fourth-tier club made it through to the Capital One Cup Final after securing the victory over the Premier League side Aston Villa 4-5 on aggregate despite losing 2-1 away from home.

Bradford have become the first fourth tier side to reach a major English Cup final in over 50 years. Semi-professional football player James Hanson netted the decisive second-leg goal that allowed his team to reach the final where they meet either Swansea or Chelsea.

Bradford manager Phil Parkinson believes the current Bradford form helps his team to claim the Capital One Cup title. The famous victory could also rescue the club from the financial woes and put it in the position of the financial security for the foreseeable future. On their way to success Bradford have beaten Notts County, Watford, Burton, and most notably Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Parkinson revealed: “We said to the lads before that there was a chance to make history but, while we knew that, we had to focus on the key elements in the game to get us there. I felt we certainly did that in the second half. These lads will be remembered in the history of Bradford City for years to come.”
