Frank Lampard announced he would be leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of his contract later on this month.

The veteran midfielder told Chelsea fans:
“Whatever the next challenge is for me I will always be amongst you and have Chelsea in my heart.
“When I arrived at this fantastic club 13 years ago I would never have believed that I would be fortunate enough to play so many games and enjoy sharing in so much success”.

The 35-year old, who is preparing for 2014 Brazil World Cup in Miami with the England national team, played 649 matches for the Blues, netting 211 goals, which is the club record. He is now linked to new MLS franchise, New York City, who had already signed David Villa earlier on.
