Fulham set to hold onto Hangeland

Fulham boss Martin Jol is determined to try and tie up Brede Hangeland’s future. The Dutchman is set to offer his defender a new deal in several weeks.

The 31-year-old Hangeland has established himself as indispensable member of the first squad, following his arrival from Copenhagen in 2008. He has made 182 appearances, scoring 8 goals for five years at the Graven Cottage and becoming fans’ favourite.

The Norwegian is one of four players nearing the end of contract this summer, whose services Martin Jol would like to secure (along with Senderos, Schwarzer and Karagounis). Fulham boss said: “We are talking to quite a few players. He is one of them. It’s about him. But we are talking so it’s a positive thing and he wants to stay here. That’s good so there is no news now, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks.”
