Grosskreutz penned a two-year extension of his deal with Borussia

Kevin Grosskreutz was reportedly on radar of several English clubs, but the German dispelled all the speculations about the potential transfer and signed a deal with the running champions of Bundesliga till 2016.

The sporting director of the club Michael Zorc insisted that the new contact is significant for the team.

“Kevin has always been a footballer with a high degree of identification with Borussia Dortmund. We are pleased that we have been able to secure one more important component of our side on a long-term basis,” explained the official.

Borussia penned a deal with the defender in 2009 and since that Grosskreutz improved greatly and secured a place in the pecking order.

The player himself stated that he was delighted with the new contract, underlining: ” Borussia Dortmund were always my first priority, and I will give everything to help the club be successful. I was, am and will always be a Borusse. “

The player made 16 outings this season, netting one goal.
