Hiddink signed new deal with Anzhi

Anzhi manager Guus Hiddink put an end to speculations surrounding his future by inking a new one-year deal with the Russian club.

The 66-year-old Dutchman has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, who are actively looking for a replacement to Carlo Ancelotti in the wake of news about the interest of Italian to vacant position at Real Madrid. However Anzhi activated the option in his contract allowing them to keep Hiddink in Russia for one more season.

Hiddink led his side to the third Russian Premier League spot and Russian Cup final before losing to eventual champions CSKA Moscow.

Board director Konstantin Remchyukov revealed via Twitter: “Both sides exercise the old contract’s option to their mutual satisfaction. I am glad.”
