International friendlies’ results: Uruguay 1-0 France

Uruguay bad boy Luis Suarez scored a goal several minutes after coming off the bench to earn his side a narrow 1-0 home victory over France.

The visiting side dominated the unremarkable opening half, but Uruguay started looking more dangerous after introduction of Luis Suarez and the Liverpool forward netted the decisive goal five minutes since coming on.

The victory means Uruguay ended their disappointing winless run of three games and were given a huge boost ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier against Venezuela and the Confederations Cup.

Elsewhere, Denmark came from a goal behind to outplay Georgia courtesy of Pedersen and Eriksen goals in the closing 12 minutes of the game.
