Javier Zanetti, Walter Samuel extended their deals with Inter Milan

Inter Milan veteran defenders Walter Samuel and Javier Zanetti put pen to paper on new one-year contracts.

The 35-year-old Argentina international Samuel arrived at San Siro in 2005, and has quickly established himself as a firm first-choice player. He made in excess of 200 appearances for the Serie A side during his 8-year stay.

The 39-year-old Javier Zanetti joined the club in 1995. He earned a captain’s armband for his consistency and reliability in defense, and has won all the hearts with his dedicated performances. Ever-young Argentinian made more than 700 outings for the club.

Samuel revealed he is delighted to have signed new contract. He said: “I’m very happy to have renewed my contract for another year. Along with my team-mates, I hope I can give Inter a positive year and repay the club for the faith they’ve shown, since they still believe in me.”
