Jordi Alba: ‘The Olympics are a unique experience’.

Jordi Alba joined Spain Olympic team two days ago after a short break he was provided following Euro 2012. During the European championship Alba’s performance was developing from game to game and the goal in the final proved he is the future of Spanish football.

The player says this year has been great; he appeared regularly in Valencia’s main squad and was invited to the national team to play at Euro and the Olympics. Alba notes he is amazed to compete in London 2012 as that is ‘a unique experience’.

The defender reveals that scoring in the Euro 2012 final was a special moment for him, stating that ‘my family members and my friends, who have been with me through thick and thin, had come to see the final. It was special that I made them happy. It was a dream came true, I was watching this sort of tournament at home and in a year I played in the final ’.

Alba moved to Barcelona this summer and he claims that his challenge ‘is to play regularly at Barca and develop into an important player there’.
