Kocaman resigned as manager of Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce confirmed they parted the ways with their manager Aykut Kocaman.

According to the statement on an official club’s web-site the Turkish giants’ board has accepted resignation of the 48-year-old manger. No reason has been named as regards the resignation.

Kocaman replaced Christoph Daum in charge of Istanbul side in 2010 and helped them to win the Super Lig title at the first time of asking. The next two season, however were less successful with arch rivals Galatasaray claiming the title two seasons in a row. Fenerbahce finished the season in the second spot, 10 points behind the leaders Galatasaray.

The Turkish side have reached the semi-final of Europa League, where they were eliminated by Benfica, the eventual winners of the competition.
