Koscielny set to leave the club if Arsenal do not show ambition
Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny warns he could be leaving the club if Arsenal does not challenge for trophies next season.
The 27-year-old Frenchman joined the Gunners from Lorient in 2010. He has been an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s side, which ended the premier League season in style, reaching the desired fourth place without tasting the defeat in their last ten games.
His outstanding form attracted the interest from European powerhouse Bayern Munich, who are looking to expand their defensive option in the wake of Pep Guardiola’s arrival. Champions League Champions are reportedly prepared to table around £15m bid to secure his services.
Arsene Wenger is prepared to play hard-ball over his valuable asset, but his side has not won a silverware since 2005 and Koscielny is desperate to end that disappointing run. He said: “I feel good at Arsenal, if we have ambition to fight against the other teams of course I want to stay here. It’s hard psychologically. We are constantly pressured because if Arsenal is not in the Champions League it would be a catastrophe.
“It is hard to not win titles year after year. We are competitors, professionals, we want to win. I want to add to my list of achievements. If Arsenal cannot allow me that, I’ll seek a move elsewhere,” he added.
