La Liga news: Barcelona’s perfect start and Real Madrid’s bitter disappointment

Barcelona went on with the fourth consecutive victory in the La Liga campaign leaving Real Madrid eight points behind.

Tito Vilanova’s side claimed an impressive 4-1 win against Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez. Adriano scored an opener giving Barca the lead in the first half until Lionel Messi, who is twice Ballon d’Or winner, netted two goals in the second half. Javier Mascherano’s own goal turned out the only advantage for Getafe and David Villa finished up the game with the fourth goal in the dying minutes.

Sevilla notched a 1-0 win against Real Madrid. Piotr Trochowski’s opener two minutes from start couldn’t find a response from Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho criticized his team saying that he is worried about his them.

‘Since the official start of the season we’ve really played well only in the Spanish Super Cup and nowhere else. More than the points I’m worried that in this moment I don’t have a team.’

Malaga has given a good start to that campaign without a loss and this weekend they claimed a 3-1 win against Levante.

Real Sociedad netted twice without a response from Real Zaragoza. Osasuna ended 1-1 draw against Real Mallorca as well as Granada CF and Deportivo De La Coruña.

Atlético Madrid earned a 4 – 3 win over Rayo Vallecano.

RCD Espanyol played a 3-3 draw against Athletic Bilbao.

Valencia claimed a 2-1 victory over newly-promoted Celta Vigo.
