Laudrup to snub Real Madrid in favor of Swansea

Laudrup to snub Real Madrid in favor of Swansea

After claiming Capital One Cup title, Swansea boss Michael Laudrup is one of the most wanted managers in Europe.

Laudrup’s deal is nearing the end and this has fuelled the speculations liking him with a move to Real Madrid, amid the news that Jose Mourinho is likely to be leaving at the end of the season. However Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said he is adamant Laudrup remains in charge of the Swans next season. “With us doing well and him being a past player and a fantastic one for Real Madrid it is natural he will be linked with them. But Michael has stated he would honour his contract and we are looking a year ahead already. Personally I have no issue about the thought of him not being here next season.”

Jenkins has also revealed the club has started the negotiations as regards the extension of Laudrup’s deal. “We’ve got security in place now as his current two-year deal finishes next summer. We’ve got a period of time to make sure we have more security on that, but that’s something over the next few weeks we’ll have to speed up a bit and talk a bit further.”
