 ‘Sadly my injuries and inability to train have now finally brought an end to my career.’

Tottenham Hotspur representative confirmed that defender Ledley King decided to retire from football as his career was cut short by the injures.

The player stated he played in Tottenham since he was a small boy and throughout his stay he did not consider wearing the shirt of any another club. King added that he had always enjoyed being a part of the first team. He thanked everyone on the club and the fans that were patient and supportive at difficult periods of his career.

King was appointed as an ambassador of the club. The chairman of the Spurs Daniel Levy said that the player made a huge contribution to the club being a true captain and a true leader on the pitch. King would play a crucial role in supporting the club’s work in the community he added.
