Leon Britton extends deal with Swansea

Eurosport informs Swansea midfielder Leon Britton put pen to paper to a three-and-a-half-year that will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2016.

The 30-year-old has joined the Welsh side on loan from West Ham back in 2002. He then signed permanent deal and has made more than 400 appearances in Swansea shirt. Britton is held in high regard by the fans and coaching staff alike for his passing ability and intelligence on the field.

Britton follows pack of Swansea players (most notably Routledge, Williams and Michu) who have decided to commit their future to the club amid the excellent performance of the team. Britton expressed his sheer joy of signing a new deal, saying “I’m delighted. I know I’ve said it before, but I would love nothing more than to finish my career here. The club has been my life for the last 10 years, apart from a six-month sabbatical at Sheffield United, of course, and there’s no other place I’d rather be playing my football.”
