Liverpool to introduce new wage structure

Liverpool to introduce new wage structure

Eurosport informs that Liverpool apparently became fed up with the players ‘doing Winston Bogarde’, - that is receiving huge money while sitting on the bench.

The likes of Alberto Aquilani and Joe Cole have pocketed a lot of Liverpool money, despite not featuring in the first-team for the most of the time.

The board has decided to offer their players new performance-based deals that could stop the club being overloaded with high-paid deadwood. Managing director Ian Ayre suggested lowering players’ basic salaries and rewarding them in compliance with the quality of their performances.

Fair enough, but how do you define the.. what they call "quality of performance"?? I mean the coach says, you were just above average. I say, disagree, I was instrumental. What do they pay then?
