Liverpool, West Brom miss out on Anderlecht Mbokani, as he joins Dynamo Kiev

Liverpool, West Brom hopes of landing highly-rated Anderlecht forward Dieumerci Mbokani have been given a huge blow with the news, the 27-year-old agreed to join Dynamo Kiev.

At first the Congolese was reluctant to make a switch to Ukraine, as he apparently was waiting for a respectable offer from the Premier League club. Earlier this month Mbokani revealed that he dreams of playing in England, with West Brom and Liverpool considered the favourites to land the player. However both clubs were reportedly unable to meet Anderlecht’s demands and Mbokani decided he will not be waiting any longer.

Mbokani revealed he is relishing an opportunity of moving to such a well-supported club, who have shown a remarkable faith in his ability. The striker said: “I am delighted, it is another adventure and one I am excited about. I am coming here to improve and score as many goals as I can. Kiev are a huge club in this part of the world and a big name in Europe.

“My ambition was to go to England but the teams interested were not ready to meet the demands of my club. Kiev have shown that they want me more than anything, so that is why I decided to come here,” he added.
