Livorno won Serie A promotion

Livorno are back into Serie A for the first time since 2010, after battling to a 1-0 win over Empoli in promotion play-off final second leg to secure a 2-1 aggregate victory.

Paulinho netted the only goal of the game from Schiattarella‘s delivery in the 32nd minute of the game.

Livorno suffered the agony of relegation from the top-flight back in 2010, and managed to reach the third spot in Serie B, seven points above fourth-placed Empoli to progress to promotion play-off. They eliminated Brescia in the play-off semi-finals to join the likes of Sassuolo and Verona, who earned an automatic promotion as Serie B winners and runners up respectively.
