Luiz Adriano faced charges due to his controversial goal

UEFA began investigation around Shakhtar Donetsk controversial goal scored by Luiz Adriano in the Group stage match against Nordsjaelland that Tuesday.

Adriano scored when his team-mate Willian was about to give possession to Nordsjaelland following a break for injury. So the striker will face disciplinary proceedings caused by his controversial goal, which leveled the score 1-1 after Nordsjaelland took an early lead on the 24th minute. The Ukrainians won the game 5-2 with three goals from Adriano. After the game Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu apologized for the goal.

Shakhtar secured their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League and Nordsjaelland, having earned one point from their five Group E games leave European competition.
