Real continues the most unsuccessful run in La Liga under José Mourinho

The capital side registered a goalless draw in the game against Osasuna falling even further behind the Catalan powerhouse. The Capital side were clear favorites in the game and despite missing Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos should have taken the points, yet the champions lacked creativity and persistence and ultimately were held to a draw.

Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho refused to criticize the players claiming he liked the team’s attitude. The tactician said: “Many players played really well, like Albiol and Coentrao, who haven’t played for a time and they performed very well in a very tough match.”

Mourinho refused to take an excuse for a negative result in missing the key players, saying “I never speak about the missing players. We have had players that were injured for a month or even two and I’ve never spoken about them”.

On Sunday the Portuguese visited the fixture between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford clearly showing his priority this season. Real faces the Red Devils in the next leg of the Champions League and victory in the clash is the last chance for Mourinho to save Real from one of the biggest slumps in a decade.
