Malaga’s Isco is keen on the opportunity to continue playing under Pellegrini
Malaga playmaker Isco revealed he would welcome the opportunity to continue playing under Manuel Pellegrini, who is on the brink of leaving the club.
It is widely expected that the 59-year-old Chilean will join Manchester City after the final round of La Liga matches.
The recent speculation linked the 21-year-old Spain international Isco with a move to PSG, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea. Now it looks as though Man City will be in the driving seat to sign the player, should Pellegrini take charge of the Citizens.
Isco said he does wish to consider all the options available to him, but admitted he would be happy to continue his football career under Pellegrini. He said: “He’s been my footballing father and I know that he likes me and, for me, of course I would like to continue with him because he’s given me all the confidence in the world.
Isco stressed that while choosing the new club he is likely to join the one that guarantees him regular first-team football. He said: “It’s a very important decision for me and I don’t want to get it wrong. I have doubts because I want to play, wherever it is, and that’s the most important thing. I don’t want to regret it after not getting many minutes.”
He added: “I’m not closing my door to anyone but my priority is to play and I don’t want to be on the bench. We’ll see what happens in the summer,” playmaker added.
