Man City to delay the contract talks with Tevez, Barry and Lescott

According to goal.com The Citizens have decided to postpone the contract negotiations with Carlos Tévez, Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott until summer due to various reasons.

Main reasons to think twice before extending the deals with Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott (which are set to expire in 2014) are their age and high wage demands. Currently 31 year-old defensive midfielder and 30 year-old defender are paid £120,000 per week and £90,000 per week respectively.

Carlos Tévez, 28, has been out of Man City’s first squad for about half a year during the season 2011-2012 due to the infamous dispute with Mancini. Currently the Argentina international is weighting an option of returning to Boca Juniors after the end of his contract.
