Man City Kompany to make a switch for Barcelona

Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany is on top of Barcelona wish-list as they are looking for a replacement to their ageing defensive rock Carles Puyol.

The career of the 35-year-old defender, who has won five La Liga titles and three Champions League titles, is nearing the end. And Barca are determined the Citizens’ talismanic defender Vincent Kompany has what it takes to fill Puyol’s boots. His leadership qualities, reliability and composure have been instrumental in helping his team to claim the first Premier League title in 44 years.

Kompany has had mixed fortunes at Man City this season, as he has spent significant time on the sidelines due to injuries. The Belgian has only recently clinched the six-year deal with Man City and the Premier League defending champions are unlikely to settle for anything less than £20 million for their captain.
