Man City to make a £50M bid for Dortmund duo

Man City to make a £50M bid for Dortmund duo

Manchester City are weighting up a summer move for highly-rated Borussia Dortmund players Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan.

According to Todays football news, Man City scouts have been monitoring the progress of the duo for several months. Director of football Txiki Begiristain flew to Dortmund to watch the players in action during Champions’ League encounter against Shakhtar Donetsk.

It is to be recalled that Man City faced the German giants in the Champions’ League group stage, having drawn one game and lost another. The English side has finished in the last place to be eliminated from the tournament at the group stage. And the Dortmund pair is unlikely to perceive the Citizens as a step up in their careers.

Marco Reus has joined Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach last summer and enjoyed an impressive debut season at Westfalenstadion, having scored 11 goals and setting up another 10 in his 26 appearances.
