Man City transfer news: Mancini eyes Villa switch

Daily Mirror informs that Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has turned his attention to Barcelona out-of-favor striker David Villa in a bid to find a replacement for Balotelli who has been offloaded to Milan.

Mancini is looking to make the last-moment bid for Barca striker David Villa in order to restore his quota of senior strikers to four players. Spanish giants have made it clear that they do not wish to sell their striker, however Mancini hopes ex-Blaugrana official Txiki Begiristain currently City’s sporting director can come to understanding with Barca’s hierarchy.

Mancini believes £15 million offer would be tempting enough to part ways with the injury-prone striker who has made just 14 appearances for the club this season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have also refused to give up their attempts of signing the 31-year-old Spain international and are preparing their final improved bid.
