Man Utd team news: Phil Jones out for two weeks

Eurosport states Man Utd defender Phil Jones is set to be on the sidelines for up to two weeks after suffering a bout of shingles.

The 20-year-old England international will surely miss next week’s Champions League last-16 encounter against Real Madrid. He was dropped out of the England U-21 squad by head coach Stuart Pierce. The Psycho revealed: “Jones picked up shingles and there’s not a lot we can do about it. It’s a shame because it makes us stronger when Phil’s here, that’s for sure. But it gives someone else a chance.”

After Jones put in an excellent midfield display against Tottenham and Fergie was likely to field him in that position again against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. That is why this injury is a major blow for Fergie.
