Manchester City beat Sunderland and win the Capital One Cup

Manchester City beat Sunderland 3-1 at Wembley and won their first Cup under Manuel Pellegrini

Fabio Borini opened the scoring early in the match and had a great opportunity to double the lead but City captain Vincent Kompany made a perfectly-timed tackle. It was Yaya Toure who turned the game upside down with a spectacular long-range goal on 55 minutes.

The Citizens were ahead just one minute later courtesy of Samir Nasri strike. It was not until the last minute that Manchester killed the game off as Yaya Toure set Jesus Navas for a third goal.

Overall, Manchester City deserved the victory and now enjoy their first trophy of the year. Next Sunday they play Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup last eight, while Sunderland travel to Hull.
