Manchester United is about to get a £1-billion kit sponsorship deal

Nike has recently begun negotiations over a new deal with United.

The old agreement worth £303 million and a profit share of sales over 13 years will expire in 2015. It is claimed that negotiations are about a long-term deal. If the agreement is signed in six-month period, Manchester United’s £1-billion kit sponsorship deal would be the biggest one in the history of sport. Their main arguments are that since the previous shirt sponsorship deal has risen six-fold and Rory McIlroy alone is to be paid £156m for a ten-year deal to wear Nike clothes and have the company’s logos on his equipment.
