Manchester United edge closer to signing Benfica’s Ezeguiel Garay

Manchester United are on the verge of signing their long-term target – Benfica’s defender Benfica’s Ezeguiel Garay.

The speculations have linked the 26-year-old Argentinian with a move to Old Trafford for a about a year now, and it looks like new boss David Moyes is adamant to finalize the deal in the near future. Moyes has reportedly launched a £17million bid for the highly-rated defender and it is believed Benfica are prepared to part ways with their valuable asset after signing the replacement.

The Portuguese side are about to complete the transfer for Lisandro Ezequiel Lopez from Arsenal de Sarandi for £3.5 million, who they consider the perfect candidature to fill in Garay’s boots.

In addition to Garay Moyes is looking to land his former player Leighton Baines to strengthen the otherwise shaky defensive line.
