Manchester United Kagawa revealed disappointment with a debut season

Manchester United playmaker Sinji Kagawa revealed he is disappointed with the level of his performances at Old Trafford in his debut Premier League season.

Despite helping his side to claim the 20th Premier League title, the 24-year-old Japanese fell short of his own high expectations. He said: ‘It was a tough time for me with a lot going on in my head. I am not happy with my performance for the team at all. I didn’t score that much and I also had my (knee) injury.

‘Despite that, it was great we won the league, I just don’t feel that I achieved everything that I wanted. For me personally, it wasn’t a good season,’ he added.

Kagawa has been brought to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012. The Japanese expressed the desire to improve his performances next year to impress his new boss David Moyes.

He said: ‘I always think that I must play well. And I always have an image in my mind of how I want to play, wherever the position. Whenever there is a tough time, whenever it gets difficult for me, I just train and look ahead to the future.’
