Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher takes up training with Scotland team

The 28-year-old Darren Fletcher has started training after the break that was caused by chronic bowel complaint.

He made the last appearance in the Champions League tie against Benfica in November and since then he hasn’t played for eight months. The disease raised fears that he could give up his playing career.

The Scotland national team coach Craig Levein said that Fletcher is to join the team at the weekend as he had already renewed training and played the first part in a practice match last week. Levein added that Darren is not in the squad yet because he had not played for Manchester United but he would come back and do a bit of training with the team.
