Mario Gomez stays at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez is set to remain at Allianz Arena, despite the ongoing speculation about his move to Napoli, according to his agent.

The 27-year-old German has lost his status of firm first-choice player after Mandjukic’s marvelous run of form last season. As a result he has been linked with a move away from Allianz Arena, with Napoli considered his most likely destination.

The speculation about his future was fuelled again by the news about the appointment of Pep Guardiola as new Bayern Munich boss and rumours that Robert Lewandowski could also be joining the club in summer.

However Gomez’s agent Uli Ferber dismissed the rumours saying he has not received any officials offers from other clubs. He revealed: “We have never been discussing a transfer with Napoli. I am going to sort out the future of Mario Gomez in the next couple of days. Actually, I feel those next three to four days could see us get a clear idea about it.”
