Mario Gotze: ‘We have a superb team’

The German forward Mario Gotze spent only 3 minutes on the field when he netted the winner for Borussian in the match against Werder Bremen (2-1).

After the match the player claimed his success was a relief for him and for the team, especially in the home game. Gotze stated: ‘It was great to score again as we were playing at home stadium. It’s been such a long time since I scored last time - it feels like an eternity.’

The German international revealed he was not delighted to start from the substitute’s bench, yet he understands Borussia has many strong players, adding: ‘In the side there will be players who have to start off on the bench, waiting for their chance.’

Gotze claimed he was relaxed during the game. The player underlined: ‘Football is fun, so why should I feel pressure? We have a superb team, our fans are great and we play at a magnificent stadium. We should enjoy how we play. And I reckon we do.’

Good attitude: we play-we have fun-we get trophies. That's the true idea about football.
