Mark Clattenburg didn’t use inappropriate language towards John Obi Mikel

The Football Association has withdrawn charges from Clattenburg, who had been accused by Chelsea of racial insulting towards their midfielder Mikel during the home match against Manchester United on 28 October.

The entire situation was at least strange because Mikel, staying much closer to the referee than Ramires, didn’t hear what Clattenburg had said. Nevertheless John Obi Mikel relied on the evidence from Brazilian and accused the referee of using racial language.

Two assistant referees and the official, who had microphones and heard each other, they didn’t hear any racist language from Clattenburg that he was accused of.

Referees’ union Prospect have asked Chelsea to apologize and compensate for the period that the referee stayed removed from his work.
