Marseille Rémy set to join QPR

Daily Mail informs that Queens Park Rangers have apparently stolen Loïc Rémy from under Newcastle’s noses.

The Magpies have agreed a transfer fee with Marseille for the 25-year-old striker. The France international has agreed the personal terms with the club, and was widely expected to fly to England to undergo the medical. However QPR have hijacked the deal by offering Rémy the salary almost twice as big as Newcastle have offered. After switching to the Loftus Road Rémy will be earning around £80,000 per week.

QPR are currently lying at the bottom of Premier League table and Rémy’s decision to prefer Rangers over Magpies seems surprising to say the least. From another side his arrival will hardly repair the dressing-room atmosphere at the Loftus Road, taking into account that the root of the most of QPR problems lies in the mismatch between the salaries of the club’s ‘old guard’ and the new signings.
