Messi to feature in Argentina’s qualifier against Colombia

Argentina superstar Lionel Messi returned to full fitness ahead of his side’s World Cup qualifier against Colombia.

Messi has been given green light by Barcelona, after being assessed by medical staff as to whether he is fit enough to take part in the game against Colombia. It is to be recalled that Messi has missed the end of La Liga season with a hamstring injury however Barcelona official Twitter feed reported he “had received medical discharge”.

Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella has been hopeful as regards Messi’s availability for the forthcoming game, saying, though, he is not inclined to risk the player if he is not fir enough. He said: “I think his leg is well. He looks fast to me, but we have to analyse his inactivity. We do not need to take unnecessary risks.”

Argentina could make a significant step forward on their way of securing World Cup automatic qualification with a win over Colombia. They are currently four points ahead of their closest rivals Ecuador and 5 points ahead of Colombia.
