Mexico overcame Senegal 4-2

Winning Senegal 4-2 after extra time Mexico advanced to the semifinal though the team hadn’t achieved such a success at the Olympic Games since 1968.

Jorge Enriquez opened scoring in the 10th minute. Javier Aquino led Mexico to 2-0 ahead but in seven minutes Senegal responded. Moussa Konate netted a goal on the 69th minute and soon after that Ibrahima Balde equalized the score.

In extra period Dos Santos advanced Mexico into the lead on the 98th minute and Hector Herrera doubled the score.

So having scored two extra-time goals, Mexico will face Japan in the final four.
