Micah Richards is sidelined because of the knee injury

No definite terms around his recovery were officially announced though the 24-year-old defender will be out for about six or eight weeks.

Manchester City defender underwent an operation on his right knee on Monday night having sustained the problem in Premier League 1-0 win against Swansea this Saturday. He was taken from the field on a stretcher, with an oxygen mask.

Richards has suffered an ankle injury not so long ago, representing the Great Britain national team at the 2012 Summer Olympics and because of that he missed the start of that season.
