Michael Owen joins Stoke City

Michael Owen joins Stoke City

The 32-year-old, Owen, left Manchester United this summer and joined Stoke City.

The Premier League have approved Owen after a series of checks as he was signed beyond the transfer window and they needed to affirm that his contract with his previous club had expired.

In fact Owen was released this summer from United and recently moved to the Britannia Stadium where he will receive a basic wage and bonuses all that will depend on his appearances and goals.

Owen wrote in his tweeter: ‘Delighted to have signed for Stoke subject to Premier League approval. We have been in talks for a while and it was a club I was always keen on.

‘I’m particularly excited at prospect of working under Tony Pulis. He has assembled a great squad that I look forward to joining.’

He is 89 times capped for England and scored 40 goals.

Good job. Stoke! I bet poor Liverpool wouldn't mind getting your aging pair of forwards (Owen-Crouch) back to the club now! Lol
