Monaco land Carvalho from Real Madrid
Monaco have signed veteran centre-back Daniel Carvalho from Real Madrid for on a free transfer.
The 35-year-old former Portugal international has agreed a one-year deal, which has an option of extension for a further year, with the newly promoted French side.
Carvalho made a switch to Santiago Bernabeu back in 2010. He won Champions League trophy with Porto in 2004 when they outplayed Monaco. The Portuguese revealed he is happy to have joined the new club. He said: “I am delighted to join Monaco and participate in this new adventure. It is a new challenge for me.”
Monaco, who are owned by Russian billionaire Dmirty Rybolovlev, continue strengthening their squad with quality players with a view to reach Champions League qualification next year.
