Monaco target Sagna

Monaco are seriously considering a move for out-of-favor Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna.

The 30-year-old’s future at Arsenal remains in the dark as he rejected the latest Arsenal offer of a new contract with the contract’s length being a major stumbling block. While the Frenchman is willing to sign a long-term deal, the Gunners are ready to offer him just a one-year extension, taking into account his age and injury record.

Monaco are believed to be keen on adding big-name players to their squad as they target Champions League spot next season, after reclaiming top-flight status. Monaco are expected to try and snap up Sagna on a free transfer this summer. A host of clubs from Italy and Russia are also closely monitoring the situation with the player.
