Newcastle to bid for Aubameyang

Daily Mirror reports that Newcastle continue their quest for a striker that could replace prolific Demba Ba. As is turned out their prime target Loïc Rémy is out of their reach due to his hefty transfer fee and the Magpies have turned their attention to St. Etienne’s forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Newcastle sent their scouts to St.Etienne to see the 23-year-old Gabon striker in action during the St.Etienne’s clash with Tolouse. Another Newcastle target midfielder Moussa Sissoko, was also involved in the game featuring in the visitors’ squad. Despite the fact that neither of the players scored they both played an important role in build-up to goals.

Aubameyang has been an integral part of St. Etienne’s first team this season, scoring 8 goals and setting up another 7 in 19 appearances.
