Pellegrini confirmed to have verbal agreement with City
Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini revealed he has a verbal agreement with Man City to succeed Roberto Mancini in charge of the club.
The speculation has linked the 59-year-old Chilean with a move the Etihad stadium since Mancini’s sacking before the end of Premier League season. Pellegrini has been a success at Spanish side, reaching fourth place in La Liga, which is the best ever result in history of the club and leading them to Champions League quarter-final. Malaga were seconds away from progressing to the semi-final, but were elimiated by Borussia Dortmund after conceding two goals deep into injury time.
Pellegrini said: “I have a verbal agreement with them and I hope it is carried out. As of today, I don’t have a signed contract. It is true that Manchester City have shown a lot of interest that I become their coach and I have had conversations with them. Until things have been signed, you cannot say everything is completely done.”
