Premier League fixtures. Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur and more

With the FA Cup fixtures scheduled for the upcoming weekend, only five matches will be played on Saturday in Premier League.

Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur

With Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City missing the round, Chelsea could extend their lead to seven points if they beat Spurs at Stamford Bridge. The only trouble for Jose Mourinho is Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard, who damaged his ankle while on international duty. Tim Sherwood has serious concerns over back line with Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Ezequiel Fryers, Younes Kaboul all doubtful in addition to injured Vlad Chiriches. Playmaker Christian Eriksen missed for Denmark on Wednesday and is unlikely to start at Stamford Bridge. The teams drew at White Hart Lane in the first round.

West Bromwich v Manchester United

Pepe Mel is yet to get his first victory in England on the road to saving the Baggies from relegation. He will have to play the champions without Diego Lugano and Billy Jones. David Moyes surprised United fans with an open letter in which he stated he was desperate to compensate for poor start and to get the team back on winning rails. However, United chances of qualifying for next year’s Champions League are bare as they lie 12 points adrift fourth-placed Manchester City.

Cardiff City host Fulham in a crucial relegation fight, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Jay Rodriguez and Rickie Lambert return to club after international duty for England and travel to Selhurst Park. Norwich City meet Stoke City at Carrow Road.
