That means we will witness a truly special clash on Saturday afternoon. In midweek the clubs qualified for the Champions League play-off but will face a tough draw as they finished second behind German giants Bayern and Dortmund. Arsene Wenger has no fresh injury concerns, while Gael Clichy’s appearance is doubtful after the Frenchman had picked up a foot injury.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur can catch Liverpool should they beat The Reds at White Hart Lane. They progressed to the last 32 of Europa League after outclassing Anzhi on Thursday as Roberto Soldado netted a hat-trick and won the last two matches in Premier League. However, Andre Villas-Boas has certain defensive problems as Jan Vertonghen is ruled out, Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches are doubtful. In-form striker Luis Suarez might experience shortage of assists as Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge will be missing till New Year.

Aston Villa vs Manchester United

The main question is whether United can find a way to bounce back and improve their woeful performance. Two straight home defeats mean The Red Devils are in deep trouble and desperately need to get points at Villa Park. However, Paul Lambert already managed to beat Arsenal, Manchester City and Southampton in current campaign and is looking forward to get another giant’s scalp. Wayne Rooney returns after suspension but Manchester midfield is still vulnerable with Carrick sidelined and Fellaini struggling. Libor Kozak is doubtful for Aston Villa.
